Default Walbro Fuel Pump reliability

Hey Guys,

I just put a Walbro 255 Lt/hr HP in tank fuel pump in my Miata to handle my LS1 V8 T-56 conversion, naturally I upsized fuel line. There weren't alot of alternatives except external pumps for this and my future up grade ideas include engine mods to 600 HP.

I wonder if anybody has any comments, ideas or experiences with LS V8s and Walbro in-tank pumps applications performance, reliability, what-ever?

- Thanks

I've abused my Walbro GSS304 pump for a two and a half seasons now with no problems. Starved it for gas twice on road courses (hard corners and low fuel) and it just won't die.

I don't know what the gerotor pump mechanism itself is made of, but it must be tougher stuff than the usual plastic turbine ones.
