Default Procharger/LS1/1970 Camaro - has antone done this?

Hello-
Has anyone here installed a procharger on an LS1 motor in a 1970-1981 Camaro or Firebird?
My main concern at this point is will this set-up fit under the stock hood.
Thanks.

Default ls1

are you sure a stock LS1 fits under a stock 70 style camaro? I'm interested in putting a LS1 into my 73 camaro, but just haven't started yet. I do have one on a skid if you need a measurment. As for the procharger I'm not sure how that will fit. Do you already have this motor in your car? I could use some tips on the installation myself.

I believe it should fit under a stock hood. The supercharger would be more towards the side rather than on top of the engine.....look at how the procharger kits fit in 4th gen F-bodies.......It might be a tight sqeeze but should work....That would be a neat setup in a 2nd gen. I hope to put a magna charger in my 71 once I get the ls1 snug in there...i might have clearance issues though...

Sharp1...yes the LS1 fits under 2nd gens its been done and I am in the process of doing this swap

I am going to start on my LS1 swap soon. I really want to do the pro-charger eventually.

Can someone please tell me which motor mounts to use.

if you are doing this swap on a 2nd gen then S&P adapter plates will allow you to use your original motor mounts

you just have to look at all the different gen 3 applications for the procharger. They all sit relatively low, so you just need to get the one that will clear frame rails and steering components.
