Default LS1 '87 Turbo II - Just sayin' "Hi" for the Rex's

Been looking around this evening, and not seeing many RX7's around.

Anyway, I recently got fed up with the rotary engines (my 3rd in the same car) and have gove the LS1 route! I have not yet fired her up, but I can already say - "I'm very pleased". It's about another week out, but man, I'm ready!

I'm an old school V8 tuner ('71 Formula 455), and this will be my first "late model" V8 toy. I've had the RX7 for about 12 yrs, and it's ready for some real power.

Just droppin' a line in for the RX7's!
(2,800lbs, 4.10rear, .29cd, and looks good too!)

Ok, you can see it. I have started a www site about it.

www.thewrongmotor.com

It doesn't have any real info yet, because I'm still working on the car, but it's there. So just check it every now and then. As soon as I have enough info and pictures posted, I'll let everyone know!

I'm in the process of a ls1 swap into a 2nd gen
rx7. The engine and tranny are mounted in the car,
(ls1 from 99 z-28 w/4l60e)I have not yet wired any of the various components, I'm in the process
of mounting the B&M shifter, the drive shaft has to be shorten along w/the rx7 mounting flange welded on. For now I am using the stock exhaust manifolds and cats. I have come across many small
but correctable problems. I'm trying to take my fist drive early spring!

I actually have a 1987 RX-7 Turbo II that I currently use as a train car. It's got 140,000 miles on it. I was thinking of swapping in an LT1 or and LS1 with the T56 tranny.

My current Twin Turbo 99 WS6 is probably going to get a Turbo 400 or something like that due to the HP. So I'll have a spare T56 and a short block in perfect order to throw at it. I'm going Iron block in the WS6.

I wonder what it would cost me to stick with the LS1. I wonder how things line up for you with the T56 in there. What about weight difference? Anwyay looks like some sweet fun.
