Thanks, still doing shake down but she runs pretty well. I was going for mid to late 60s style with "modern" powertrain. Just picked up a t56 and ls3 top end. I'm hoping for 450 wheel N/A

Not converted yet. I just picked up a 2002 Camaro SS donor car to swap the LS1 and T56 into a 1969 Datsun Roadster. I look forward to getting some information but, being a new member, my posts are being limited.

Default LS-3 480/4L70E in my 61' Impala

Finally finished my LS-3 install and it runs and drives great.
I had a lot of inspiration from seeing what others have done on these forums.
Chevrolet Performance sells a great package and the 4L70E is programed with solid shifts. It chirps the tires on the 1-2 upshift on WOT and it fit my car without modification to the tunnel.
Combined with a 9" custom fabricated rear end and heavy duty driveshaft from Inland Empire driveline it all works together.
I hid the engine and transmission ECU's inside the car to keep the engine compartment clean.
Thanks to everyone here on LS1 Tech for the info you post.

1967 Chevelle Malibu
New LSA/4L85E GM Connect & Cruise
Will post pics as I go including part numbers that work as there have been a few posts of some amazing builds but I'm still uncertain on part numbers for Accessory drives and AC mounts for the LSA in an a body..

Thanks, Jos

I have a 1967 Pontiac GTO convertible with a 525 hp LS 3 hooked to a T56 magnum 6 speed Manual trans. Also For 9 inch with 3.89 gears. Used the Holley accessory drive brackets and Holley 302-2 oil pan. Have about 2000 miles on it and enjoying every mile! Got to figure out how to post pictures on this site.

Any hassles using the Holley parts? Did you use their engine and/or tranny mounts?

Hello,

My conversion is using a model year 2000 Chevy Silverado LM7 VORTEC truck motor and its 4L60E transmission into my 1970 El Camino. Rust repairs have been my focus since acquiring this vehicle last April and she had been parked since about 1983-84 according to its last Texas inspection sticker and plate decal. All rust repairs have been finished and I'm hoping that next month will be a big month for the front brake disk conversion, coil overs, front suspension rebuild and the installation of the Dirty Dingo LS engine mounts.

I'm hoping that February will allow me to begin test fitting the motor and trans. Fingers crossed and hopeful.

Still don't know which one is going where, just scratched the surface of these swaps, just have the trucks and the engines, no idea where I want to go yet.

Pat
So, I just picked up another LQ4, so now both trucks will getting the 6.0’s. I think I’ll rebuild the LM7 for the wife’s 261k mile 00 Suburban. Nothing wrong with it, but still 261k! Might as well since I have it. Anyone done the reluctor wheel swap?

Why would you need the reluctor wheel swap? All your engines are Gen III.

And the LM7 you have has the later wheel? I believe it was an overlap year.

I honestly haven’t looked at the color of the sensor yet, but so far the resounding answer is 06 and up are all 58X. Just wanted to have the info on hand before I get started, ducks in a row if you will.
