Default pulling LS1 help

I am currently pulling my LS1 out of a wrecked camaro. The front is trashed but the motor is good. Can I take the motor out with the tranny or should I take the tranny out the bottom? It looks like it would clear. Anyone know?

You can do it either way. If you go from the top you have to strip it down to the heads w/o valve covers, etc.

If you do it from the bottom then you can have the whole drivetrain out in an hour with an engine hoist to lift the body off the K-member, and by putting 3 floor jacks under the k-member and tranny. That's what I did with my wreck.
