Where can I hook into for oil pressure guage?

Where can I hook into for oil pressure guage?
Subject says it all. I can't even get to my factory sending unit to take it out without pulling the motor. where else can I get the guage hooked to?

Hmmmm...i think that back part on the block behind the intake is about your best bet.
I was told to put an adapter in the hole for the oilpressure gauge

does anyone have any pix of what they tapped? I'm pretty sure I know where your talking about but I want to be sure before I bust out the drill.

No pics, but it's the piece held on with 2 bolts. It kinda looks like an afterthought or something. The Vette uses it for the oil temp sensor pickup point, so on the F-body they just cast the hole shut at the top.

Yes it is the cover above the oil filter with two bolts. Be sure to take it off for doing this. It is after the oil filter so any shaving will go unfiltered to the cam and bearings. Deber it too. I put my oil temp sensor there. I could email you a pic if you like.

Thanks for the help guys, I did as you suggested and tapped it to 1/8" npt and it works great. I've got 40psi hot idle. Wheeew what a relief, It was bugging the heck out of me not knowing.
