Default front sump oil pan

I believe I need a front sump oil pan for the LQ4 6.0L I'm planning on putting into the '68 Lincoln I'm working on. The Lincoln is a rear crossmember with the steering drag link behind it. the 462 that came out had a big ol' front sump pan on it.

now, where do I get a front sump pan, pickup tube and dipstick/tube?
the lowest price I've found is I've heard turnkeyenginesupply sells pan+pickup tubes for $250. waiting for an email back from them.

From the LS1 FAQ, the parts you need are the GTO front sump pan:

GTO (Holden) Oil Pan: 12561541 --> REPLACED BY 12581209
GTO (Holden) Oil Pump Pickup: 12572654
GTO (Holden) Windage Tray: 12558189 (shared with C5)
GTO (Holden) Dipstick: 12562468 (shared with C5)
GTO (Holden) Dipstick Tube: 12561544

Obviously, you should find a picture / diagram of that pan and be reasonably certain it'll fit in your application.

Checking my favorite source (PartsZoneOnline), these parts total about $250 new.

You could search around some, if you're not in a big hurry. Might be able to locate a good used setup for less than $250.....Check on here (the classified section).

Nickens Racing has pans for 150 a peice. Comes with windage tray and pickup. I bought one from them and had it here in 4 days. 963-756-1131 ask for Karina, its usuallythe lady who answers the phone. She'll try to sell you a bunch of other stuff too like LS1 heads so just ask lol.

you guys are SOOOOO helpful! thanks for the replies. what's with the big brace in the rear? I don't think the angles that come off of there will clear the steering drag link, I'll have to go measure tomorrow.

Alex, do you have a picture of the pan from Nickens Racing?

The rear bottom of the pan bolts to the transmission.

It probably isn't as good of a choice as the GTO pan, but the Envoy/Trailblazer 5.3 has a front sump pan. It has a very big sump (maybe to big even for your Lincoln) with a tube running through it for the axle.

Sorry to bring this up again but I have a 72 ford ltd I'm doing an lq4 swap on. I will need a front sump pan as well. Did the pan you use clear the steering? Dose anyone have a full set up for sell used less than 250?
Thank you.
