Default VSS vs. vehicle speed signal?

I'm adding a vehicle speed sensor (VSS), pin 20, 21, to my manual trans 02 LQ9. I had occasional stalling problems without it. Since it's DBW, I thought I might as well add cruise control.
The schematics show a "vehicle speed signal" (C2, pin 50) is needed for cruise control. What's a "vehicle speed signal"? Is that simply the output to the speedometer? And is it needed? I'm running a cable driven speedo.

Yea that is the Speedometer Signal..C2 Pin 10 is the one for the Tach.

It also goes to the Cruise Module to tell it how fast you are going.

Check it out..

No cruise module with DBW, that I know of. My diagrams show the controls wired to the TAC module and computer. So I'm guessing no need to wire it to anything.

C-2 pin 50 is the signal out from the PCM to the speedometer, you don't need it for the cruise to work.

VSS added (Dakota Digital), no more stalling. And thanks to LS1MCSS for a few pins!
Thanks all for the info.
