Awsome truck...and car!!!! Helps me with ALOT! of questions I had with mine.

I also have a 91 S10 RCSB just like yours.

How's the traction with the truck?

Let me see if I can find some pics of my truck, although they are about a year old, and I have made a ton of changes.

traction? whats that. lol. not too bad with the traction bars cant launch or it will spin for days. 2nd gear rolls are great, first is a no go. truck was built for fun and to cruise, not planning on draging it.

Had a 92 very much like it...got it w the 4.3 5 speed intending to do a swap...never happened...rusted away

I love thos old S10s!

Maybe I should just put an LS6 or LS7 in my Z and put the stock LS1 in my brothers 99 extreme.

But I do like the square bodies better!

Those Xtreme's (however it's spelled) should have gotten a LS1 to begin with having a name like that and all! Plus, GM made them look pretty good right from the factory so to have the ground effets, nicer wheels and 350 HP under the hood, that would have been a killer combo! Heck, even if they would have just put hte 5.3L out of the full size trucks into it that would have been a peppy little truck that's for sure!

This is exactly what I’m looking today. I figure it’s about a year out from reality so im in the planning stages

A few questions for you:
What was the budget? I would like to do it for under 10k total but the more I look 15k is reasonable.
Is that engine stock other than the cam?
Any more details on the build up? What did you use for engine mounts? Was it a kit you used for the swap? How did you handle the radiator?

Thanks!

rao – no flaming me :p

umm. there was no budget really. i wanted to build a fun streetable truck. u can save lots of money by not getting it painted as perfect as i wanted. the motor mounts came from jags that run. radiator was a corvette radiator that i custom made brackets for. not quite sure what i have in it dont want to tally. lol. I was Offered 15k couldnt let it go. the truck was evberything i hoped for and cant wait to get it tuned on wed wil post some numbers after the tune.

You have a gorgeous truck. When I'm able to swap an LSx into my '83 blazer it'll be done just like yours. I have a feeling I'm going to have a lot of questions for you.

the rims are 15s and they are 255-60 R 15s and 235s up front. future mods include a set of port and polished heads, and a ls6 intake. and thats just about it.
