It just doesn't stop. And since I just replied I am keeping it alive. What is the purpose of debating this? Is there really an answer? Why such hate for something like a "motor" or car? Personally I am a car guy. If it's hot, fast, built nice or clean, I like it. It could be a damn kart.

the 2jz-gte fully dressed is over 600 lbs, stock.

Billit mains in a LS1/LS2 > 2jz-gte for strength and overall build costs.

Bow Tie LSX block is overkill for the street IMO

LSx is the better engine. Displacement is king.

Whatever the 2JZ can do, the LSx can do better with less.

Oh in case people forgot, there was defintely one person in here that ran about 700-800 h.p. on a stock bottom LS1. Granted, he was worried, and ran race gas and or alcohol inj. but the fact remains.

Not bad for the poor factory con rod bolts and weak pistons.

Are you talking stock bottom ends, or just the blocks themselves?? Of course an alloy block is NO match for an iron block when high boost is in use. But properly stuff an iron LSx block full of forged internals, and it WILL match your stock "infallible" GTE's bottom end.

Once a car is modded, ALL bets are off!!! So IF you all want to keep saying "stock" this and "stock" that, I say well let's compare your PURE STOCK Poopras (as they came off of the showroom floor) to a PURE STOCK alloy LSx ride. Now all of a sudden you're Nippon Giant's "unbeatable" powerplant doesn't look so mean.

In a few months my and my mate's cars will be on the road and will be able to post some vids of us racing each other. I am building LS1 powered 180sx with an auto and he is building a 2JZGTE HR Holden with auto. Both are going to have around 500rwhp. NOS vs Turbo.

3L Vs 5.7L much like 9mm Vs 50cal

LOL..yeah you don't need hard numbers as it is a fact that an LS1 with less horsepower can run a quicker 1320 than a 2JZ with more.

Oh and did I mention, on pump gas. With higher boost, and race gas we are well over 1K h.p. and the 2JZ is way behind.

As some have also said in here, mod the engine and all bets are off...you can get the same or more power with half the boost, pump gas..and oh it can run for years like that..

So does that mean all of you worshippers will deify the thing EVEN MORE (IF that's even possible!!) when they are all gone??!!!??! <--you

Get over it, IT IS JUST A CAR, and NO, it is NOT a "super car" especially not in stock form. Geez, some of you sound like giddy little ricefanboyzz.

Brainiacs; the ONLY reason it was "low production" is because it was a sales FAILURE!!!! Your beloved Nippon Giant (TOY) had NO intention to sell as few as they did, as if it were your "exotic supacar"

Personally I prefer the B-series Vtec sound to the K-series Vtec sound. Anyone agree with me on that?

Default 2jz weight

Does anybody know exactly what a dressed 2jz (with turbos/intercooler) weighs? I've heard they are pigs but I cannot for the life of me find a good solid number, even on other forums. I'd like to know so that I can use that info in discussions like this , no seriously.

Long live the LSX.

Quick Reply: The LS1 is better than the 2JZ OR the 2JZ is better because...
