Got the truck tuned tonight and the alternator wasn't charging. I have a 99 truck alt and a 98 f body harness with the one wire. I learned after reading that I need a 470ohm resistor to go in line with the red wire but it has no power on it with the motor running. Do I need a 98 alt or can I use the truck alt? I will go pick up a resistor and wire it up to a switched 12v source tomorrow.

Also will a car alt bolt up in a truck bracket if I need a 98 alt? I can swap my truck alt for a 98 alt if I need to.

Nevermind a 99 and 2000 truck alternator have the same one wire like the 98 camaro. I don't know about other years.
