Proportioning valves are for vehicles with front disc-rear drum brakes.
All mercedes have had 4-wheel disc since 1967.

Have to mount differential and make some steering arms and some other stuff.

Ok, proportioning valves are to decrease the pressure to the rear brakes so you don't spin 180 degrees when you hit the brakes.
They seem to be more prominent on drum-disc cars without abs.

i know a lot of stock cars have one built into the abs/master.. not an adjustable one but itd bias the pressure itself.

I ask because the 4 wheel drum mustang i have now has 4 wheel disc breaks, but i havent decided on a factory disc setup or a wilwood unit to match the master/breaks.

Default LS1 and 190E

Similar Ls1 swap in slow progress here. LS1 & T56 to 190E Merc - Preparing the 190E sub-frame with Nissan Skyline diff & axles and hubs.
Hope this Drop box link will work for pictures.

Oof, thats a ton of work...stupid benz with the huge steering box right where the exhaust should go. This is what scared me off from doin this to moms W126 chassis. Looks good though, I always likes the 190 in clean white, dark windows and some simple rims. Gonna be a sweet tire smoker

Yes the steering will be a bit problem - the old Merc box has to go - Plan is to use Nissan S13/14 rack.. It is very close in length & other dimensions for fitment to W201.

In my case - the R200 Nissan Skyline diff is centered in the sub-frame. Axles comes out in the same position as it does with the Benz diff.
Using the Nissan short axle (2ea LH) on both site.
That way I do not have to shorten the axle or re-spline, using the Nissan CV and the Nissan wheel hub & splines. Using the Benz wheel bearing and machining the Nissan hubs to fit the Benz bearings. Using complete Benz brake assy. Very easy to fit with the Nissan hubs. Yes Benz with 114.5 x 5 bolt spacing.
See pictures this drop box link.

Driveshaft has to be custom built T56 transmission to the R200 diff..

Has anyone finished one of these projects? I really would like to do this conversion, already have the car. But if someone has already done it, it would be great to see the finished product. Also would be nice to learn from any issues they may have had. Great car to start with.

That looks like fun. That Nissan diff, with the hub and bearing integration is clever and cool.
