I need maximum tie rod clearance about 5 inches back from the front.
Thanks!
The Holley 302-2 pan remains 1.25" tall until about an inch past the 2nd bolt hole on the driver side pan rail. What specific car are you doing a swap on?

Its a vega with power steering.
The tie end is gonna end up landing right about at the curved transition area (Shown at 5.77 back from front.)

I wanted to see if the mast pan had more clearance in that area.

Will a GEN V (14+ LT1, etc.) oil pan work on a GEN III / IV ? I tried searching, but couldn't find any information. I don't list a pan gasket for the Corvette or the new truck engines, so I'm thinking they won't interchange.

No, won't interchange. Pump interface is different, timing cover interface is different. GENV oil pans are sealed with a bead of RTV (very common in engines these days), so no gasket

I contacted that guy, He did not have a photo of the pan with his "kit" welded into the pan. He has photos of the pieces placed in the cut pan, but not welded.
Anybody here actually tried the kit?

I picked up a used cts-v pan for my g body to replace the muscle car pan I originally used (2" below the k member, 2 1/4" at drain plug)

The new cts-v pan is the second design with large boss's cast into the pan for the oil cooler lines. Can these be cut/shaved off so the pan resembles the original design?

Can the h3, or muscle car pan dipstick and tube be used with the cts-v pan?

I have not used Rob's LS stuff, but I have a swap kit for a SBC in a LUV. Nice stuff for the price...

This has probably been posted before so I apologize for not finding it.

Has anyone had any oil issues using the Holley 302-1 as it is in a street car? I'm wondering if I should spend the extra bucks and get their baffle kit to install on it.

No hard drag racing or auto crossing. Just a stock LQ9 in a daily driver Volvo. Maybe some spirited stop light punches.

Hey Matt - I'm knee-deep into replacing the 5.0L Ford in my 242 Volvo (19 years w/V8 power) with an LS3. Using the Holley pan and elected to go ahead and use their baffle kit. For daily driver use I'd think you'd be fine without it.

The GTO pan has two plugs in the rear:

Does anyone know the thread size? I am thinking this is a great spot to install an oil temp sensor.

Are there any front sump Gen V pans available?
It sounds like Gen III/IV and Gen V pans are not interchangeable.

Nope, it would have to be custom.

Is there any reason why the dipsticks couldnt interchange between pans? for instance the muscle car, or h3 pan's dipstock and an f body oil pan? The full level should be the same no matter what pan is used right?

I know the LS3 crate motor dipstick tube/stick are compatible with the F-body, the Holley and the Mast pan. However, knowing how many qts. equates to "full" on the stick will take some experimentation.

Will the ls3 camaro dipstick work ok with the h3 muscle car pan?

I just installed hooker g body long tubes, and there headers are designed to work with their oil pan and the ls3 dipstick/tube. I tried using the h3/muscle car dipstick tube with the hooker headers and it interferes with the primaries and I broke it trying to bend it.

I dont see why it wouldnt work since the dipstick tube goes into the block? and the oil level should be the same height in the oil pan?

Does any one else have any insight on this?

For anybody else that may be wondering about this...

The ls3 dipstick seems to work fine with the gm musclecar/h3 oil pan. The oil does appear to read 1/4" past full on the ls3 dipstick vs full on the stock h3 dipstick.

How many qts. resulted in the '1/4" past full' reading?

Should be 6 qts, The oil was at the full mark with the muscle car dipstick, 1/4" past the full with ls3 dipstick. I'm going to change the oil this week so I will double check to see what amount puts it at full on the ls3 dipstick, but I will continue to run 6 qts.
