Yes...I have used F-body manifolds in almost all of the swaps I have done. I have them on the 1972 A-body wagon in my avatar...

Do you mind if ask what year they came from? Will the newer ones fit?
I see the older ones have EGR outlets? on them.

Fifth and 6th gen will not fit. They kick out at the outlet and will hit the frame. I think the later (2000-2002?) 4th gen do not have EGR.

And if for some reason you can't find used ones, Dorman makes them. Includes all needed hardware.

Thanks All.
If it sounds like I am trying to go cheap, I am.
I'm dropping a 5.3 into my El so I can have it be a good reliable driver until my other project is done.
When the other project is done, the El will get a frame off and it will get custom stainless headers then.
This will probably be 5 to 10 years from now.

Then the cheapest way would be to buy the stainless units now. 1) $ today worth more than $ 5-10 years from now; 2) you don't have to buy a second set at all because the stainless units will last, well, forever.

Someone a bunch of posts and 6 years ago suggested making a sticky of this thread.
I second that motion! The first few posts at the very least.
Those pics of exhaust manifolds are great reference!

Thanks.
Cost for the headers later is no worry.
I run a stainless fab shop and the owners give me any materials I need for the best possible price, no charge.
So, it does make it feasible now to run with simple manifolds as when the spring arrives I want to toss this motor in as fast as possible.
Ha, I know, LS swaps don't go quick, but I'm trying to prepare everything now.
Making a nice set of headers takes a real long time. These are for my BBC going in the hot rod.

Better believe it! Many either can't use or don't care to use headers, and it would be nice to have a visual reference to manifolds, as there are/were so many that can fit so many applications. STICKY TIME! lol

Very nice work on those headers! They are really slick. Just run what ever manifold fits for now, quickest, easiest way for you get on the road. I also vote for making this a sticky.

These are on my 72 A-body..

They fit this chassis very well. (I have my engine set back about 2" and down as low as I could...)

I think these came from a 2000 Camaro, If I remember right, I gave $50.00 for the pair.

Thanks.

That's terrific.
I will send a PM if you don't mind. I want to pick your brain about items unrelated to this thread.
