does anyone know where to view a better factory wiring schematic for a 68 camaro?

i have a copy of the factory assembly manual, but the pics are blurry. i didnt know if all data went back that far or if anyone has found a repair manual (i know haynes doesnt make one).

Which section of the car are you looking for? We have some of them, but not a good complete set.

i didnt have a harness for under the hood lights and engine side. so i went to the junkyard and found a 73 cadilac (just happens to have the same plug) but the wires are in the wrong spots.

some of the wires i have been able to figure out but some you just cant even see in the book. so i need the to just make sure im putting my lighting wires and the power in as well as wipers and blower motor.

Engine bay and light harness, let me see what I can do about getting those over to you. If worse comes to worse, I can draw them up from scratch. I will go dig out the books tomorow. I have a start to the harness from the lighting stuff in one of my drawings, so I can expand upon that. Juat to be clear, you need to know what the wires are coming out of the two harness blocks on the firewall?

I have my old harness off my 68 Camaro, it came out of a working running car, I am not going to say every connector is there but everything that I needed was there, it didnt seem to be missing anything. Let me know if you want it i'll make you a good deal.

The AIM diagrams SUCK, as well as the "wiring diagram" that Rick's et al sell which is just a copy of the AIM.

I think there's a sticky with color diagrams over in the electric forum on camaros.net.

I had to make my own diagram for the instrument panel connector when I made my gauge harness (using Autometers in a Covan's panel), and I made a really nice visio diagram of a '68 fusebox one night.

If you need to replace some of the harness, American Autowire is the way to go... they make really nice stuff with perfect reproductions of the original connectors already installed, they also have a sweet "update" kit that uses a modern fusebox in the original location and adds circuits for things like fuel pump and electric fan, and everyone says their support/service is incredible (same kinda comments you see about wait4me and speartech on here).

Hmm. WOnder if there was a fuse block difference between 67 and 68. I thought that didn't happen until 69! I will look into it and get it updated as soon as I know.

Haven't forgotten youLeon, working on your drawing. Harness is a bit different between 67 and 68. I should have it posted later. I will let you know when it is up...

Your welcome, happy to help. I am trying to gather tech info on Camaro's anyway, so every little bit. Can't wait for you to get this car done!
