Torn between two drivetrains I had an 87 Grand National drivetrain with all intetions of putting in my 69 Camaro, but just could not get motivated to swap it in, then the other day I picked up a 98 T/A for the LS1/T56, got real excited that it was what I wanted in the car, now I'm kinda second guessing myself. 
Both would be awesome in the car, but not sure which one to do.

What are your goals for the car? Are you just wanting to do something different or are looking for pure performance?
I personally would go LS-1/T-56 for performance right out of the box and sell the GN drivetrain.
If I remember correctly the turbo 6 was good for only 225 hp bone stock, and would have to spend big $$ to have it only reach stock performance of an LS-1.
Im sure you can get big money for the GN drive train because of how rare and desireable the car is.

go with the ls1 the gn motor would be cool but with a 69 camaro you need to have that v8 rumble. slap a nice cam in the motor with some true duals and youll be happy and never look back

Having had performance experience with both engines, I would go with the natural power of the V-8. The Buick can be built to run as hard as you want but they are all expensive, tempermental with breakage, and never seem to be on the road for long without being "down" for some reason or another. Those LS1 motors just run and run hard right out of the box.

I am doing an LS2 in my 70 Chevelle and it was pricy to switch but I know in the end it will be worth it.

Put the GN drivetrain in a Vega/Monza. I know one Vega with a GN V6 that is pretty close to stock and runs low 11's. I may know some one looking. I'll check it out and let you know.
