Default 66 GTO conversion

Everyone,

I have been reading many posts over the last year and have gleaned an incredable amount of information about the early A Body conversions from this site. My son and I are doing a frame off rebuild of a 1966 GTO. we are using a 6.0 from a 2006 Escalade and a t56. You can see the build progress at http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/jour...07&action=view.

Today's question: Has anyone been able to use a stock car manifold to clear the Driver's side of the early A Body frame??? If so, which model. We do not want to purchase headers at this time. Any information would be most appreciated.

On my 1965 cutlass same frame as yours I used the stock F-body manifolds that came with my 2002 ls1 plenty of room on drivers side. Had to grind the passenger side flange corner to clear the frame rail.
