G-Body Engine Stand Removal?
I've got an 87 Regal that I am considering installing an LS1 in. The engine stands are bolted to the crossmember with 3 bolts and the nuts are on the topside. How do I get these things out of there? Do I have to remove the front coils or what? When I do get these out, how do I get the bolts or nuts back in from the bottom side for the new ones. I will most likely be using John B or Spohn replacement mounts. I see that there a lot of people that have done this swap, so any help would be appreciated.

look around, there are slots, holes and other openings.. I used many different combination of tools to get the nuts and bolts off and on...
1) Long extentions (various sizes)
2) flex/swivel joints.
3) flex/swivel headed sockets.
4) wrenches.
5) tape (to hold the nut/bolt in the wrench or glue).
6) weatherstip glue (that is what the use in NASCAR on the lug nuts).
7) magnet(s) with long handle, cause you will drop some down into the frame.
I put my nuts inside the frame, as that is the way they came... I glue the lock washers to the nuts to help get them on and started.
Sooner or later you will get them all.. just have to think from different locations and try everyhting.
Good luck,
