Default 5.3L truck motor bolt to T-56?

Will a 2000 to 2006 model 5.3L truck motor bolt up to a camaro T-56 transmission? Just making sure before I order a motor. Thanks
Also what is the RPO designator of the 5.3L?

There are people with T56 swapped in there 5.3 trucks so you should be ok there you might try PT for more info.

The RPO for the 5.3 is LM7

the 5.3L is still a Gen III block as is the LS1/6, etc.. no reason why a T56 or any other transmission that is used on any of the Gen III and IV engine could not be swapped !

Take your pick:

For 2008 Engine GEN4 models:

An iron-block non-flex fuel--------RPO LY5
An iron-block flex-fuel------------RPO LMG
An aluminum block non-flex fuel---RPO LH6
An aluminum block flex-fuel-------RPO LC9

GEN 3:
iron-block federal engine: LM7
Aluminum block/head : L33
2004 only aluminum block/head: LM4
Iron block flex-fuel: L59

As long as it is a LS1 T56 the engine will work fine. This is not the case with the LT1 T56.

you can't put a ls1 t56 behind a 99-00 lq4 so that statment isn't really true.

you are right, but those 2yrs of the LQ4 are the only ones that wont work any of the other ones will,

by the way, if you are going to get a 5.3, try to look for the L33 (aluminum block with 799 heads which are the same as LS6 heads)
