Hi, I'm currently in the progress of putting a 2002 5.3l into a 2nd gen F-body. I was originally planing on using the 700r4 that we had in it, but now were looking at the possibility of getting a 4l60e to use instead. What years will work with the motor we have?

As long as it has a removable bellhousing you can you it. The new the better that way you know you are getting on with the newest updates. If you have to full rebuild, just get the new parts. I started with a 2002 core and built from there.
