What doed it take to swap an LS1 in to a 1992 Camaro?
I have a '92 Camaro RS, I have been thinking about swappint an LS1 into the place of my LO3 305 with its crappy 170hp and 255ftlb. My question is what do I have to buy to complete this swap? As in Wiring harness, E.C.M, Engine mounts, and T.C.U.'s, ayou guys got any ideas? Speartech I noticed you have an '01 LS1 in your '91 Z, can you help?
Thanx, Adam

Blu, I'm working on the same project for my 91 RS with the same slow LO3/A4. Speartechs sight really rocks. It's the best I've seen for the swap.
This thread has several people that have done the swap. Several are Speartech customers and all seem very happy.

Thanks! We've done 2 complete 3rd gen conversions here now; one without A/C and one with. Both turned out very well. We've made harnesses for several 3rd gen swappers; in fact we did all of the harness and computer programming for the Third Gen Resource car that is getting some magazine coverage now.

ok I've been thinking about doing the same thing. I was just wondering if anyone has found a way around the k-member to put long tubes in. Also I was wondering if there was a way to upday the suspension to the 4th gen style and maybe use a 4th gen tubular k-member?????

Very Good questions, i think i read on Thirdgen.org, that spohn was in the process of making a tubular k-member with LS1 brackets already on it. Does anyone know if this is true??? Less weight, and more room for headers, If true that would be the route i would be taking.
