fox mustang lsx Q's

Power steering?

every thread I can find people are building drag cars and doing flaming river racks.. Can you use a vette f body ps pump with the fox rack? no problems with the valving?

headers

can any one elaborate on how you have to "move tubes"

Thanks

I just hooked the pump up to the rack and it's worked fine so far in about 2500 miles.

You have to modify a few of the tubes on the drivers side to clear the steering shaft if you use 351W swap headers. Passenger side gets no changes to the tubes, only a new flange.

Yeah I am building a LSX fox myself and from what I have gathered a Fox rack will work just fine..you just have to get the lines made from the PS to the rack...I to am building a cruiser...(TT with 500-600hp:devil:) and I want all the luxuries...AC, PS, the whole 9 yards......I have suffered for 12 years now with a SBF that was quick..not fast...just quick and no AC...no PS  an it gets fk'n hot in Texas....

does any one know the fitting size on the PS pump?

what about brackets? are you guys using the F body or vette ps/alternator brackets or are they the same?

ss25414 Aug 13, 2009 02:28 PM

i used a fitting kit from maximum motorsports $22.00 for the fox rack and on ebay you can buy a ls1 fitting $12.00 to make the line 6an then just make your own hose

Why don't you just cut new holes on the bracket to fit onto the LS?

GPSMatt Aug 13, 2009 05:01 PM

as in use the fox alternator and PS pump and make brackets?

Ive already got some of the MM adapters I used before when i ran a PS cooler didnt think about using those thanks.

does any one have any pics of their finished headers?

I'm using truck accessories, and my ps pump is hooked up to the factory rack. On my headers the passenger side was almost a direct swap, but the driver took a little more fabbing. I extended my steering shaft a little so the rag joint would clear. I had a budget and time. I also found out that once I had the headers on, a couple of plugs were close to the primaries, so I had to use 90 degree end wires on a few. I also wrapped them to be safe

Not very good pics of the headers, but....

Here's a (construction) pic of my Maverick with BBK 351 swap headers welded to LS flanges. Hopefully, a pic is worth 1000 words... One thing about those headers, you can mock them up as-is with the Ford flanges and get two bolts to line up (the ports will be off by 1/4" or so). The Corvette PS pump outlet is 16mm x 1.5. You can buy an adapter to -6AN from any of the major suppliers.
