I bought a GMPP crate motor (376/480) from Pace (warranty, zero miles, knowing no one messed with it were all benefits.) Scoggin Dickey is also a great choice and I believe they're a sponsor. With shipping included, it cost just under $7K. Expect to spend at least another $1,500 for the TB, conversion parts, harnesses, and miscellaneous. Tuning will likely run another few hundred. But, you can sell a few parts off the crate motor to make up for the things you have to buy.

Can you give an approximate of the man hours needed for the swap? I'd need to figure in labor to get an estimate of the total for this swap. I figure with the crate motor, extra parts needed, and labor, I'm looking at an easy $10,000.

It all depends on who does the job. Doing it yourself in a garage with no lift - I'd guess 30 to 40 hours. I took a bit more time for other upgrades and to make it really, really nice.
If it's a professional shop with a lift and all the right tools - a lot less! You should ask a sponsor and see what they say. I'd bet two professionals could finish up in three or four days.

We're trying to bandaid it pending a LS3 MAP sensor, but what's the best solution? LS1 MAP bandaided with a o-ring & bolt/washer? Does the LS3 MAP sensor need any wiring changes to work with the LS1 MAP harness?

I used Lingenfelter's MAP sensor harness LS1 to LS3 (CE-109103) adaptor.

What did you do for the fuel rail?
our 98 cars have a return style fuel system, 99 up don't..
I've been told I can't use the rail off of the LS3 to connect to my fuel line.

I'm putting a 6.2 where my ls1 was but in a different car. The intake I started with was the return style, but I changed to a returnless and went the corvette filter/ regulator route which seems to be what a lot of people do.

First, I didn't buy a shortblock or longblock completely assembled. A local guy who is a moderator here had spare LS3 longblock parts from a deal which fell through. So I bought the remainder needed to complete the longblock and he assembled & installed it.
I installed the Racetronix 255LPH & hotwire kits and used LS3 injectors so I could get the correct PCM data. I originally used the FAST pigtail injector adapters, but later switched to the EV1>EV6 enclosed adapters because I thought the former looked sloppy.

How does it feel compared to the LS1? More torque, mid range,driveabilty,MPG,ect....
Was it worth the swap? (seems like it 430hp vs 305hp should)

Since I didn't install it I don't know. I'm not sure how to physically tell short of asking the builder.
When I first got the car back it was untuned for awhile. But my first impression was that the throttle response wasn't as snappy. Previous motor was a built LS1, roughly 440rwhp 405rwtq. I've never dynoed nor dyno-tuned this motor, just all from logs at this point.
Of course your choice of parts selection will control the performance, drivability, fuel economy, etc. My unmodified MPG went from 11-12 city to 10-11 city (I enjoy driving). The best highway economy I got with the LS3 was 24MPG with 400lbs of equipment in the car; I think I was getting 27'ish in the unloaded LS1. Never tried in the LS3 with the normal 3600lb weight (which includes me).
Worth is subjective as well, depending upon your goals and budget. This is my only vehicle that I had been autocrossing. I built it torquey for autocross & daily driver friendliness. I like the easy 2nd gear starts, I haven't liked the fuel economy since the original motor, but that's another price to pay. I always thought the supercharger route would have been fun, supposedly getting the good balance of fuel economy at low RPM and power at upper RPM.
