Default My build 1986 notch with 6.0/th350

Well I decided to play with the devil and try this whole lsx stuff out. The car has always been a 306 n/a car. Fastest pass was 12.2@113 with a 1.77 60'. I was tired of breaking stuff on a slow/simple combo so it was time to sell everything while it was still running good. Heres the list of what I have so far.

UPDATED PICS ON SECOND PAGE

-AJE kmember, mounts, spring perches.

-6.0 lq4 with milled heads,ls6 valve springs otherwise stock for the moment.

-built turbo 350 with 3200 stall, spacer etc.

-modified mac 1 3/4 302 longtubes with ls1 flanges.

-Walbro 255 in tank pump/corvette filter/reg.

-stock driveshaft with th350 yoke, this does work without any mods btw

-stock dual hump crossmemeber which also works if its adjustable.

-Modified stock truck harness by Great Bend Speed and Body

-I have the computer, maf, throttle body, stuff to make cold air kit, etc...

Only things im lacking is starter/alternator and some other very minor stuff. AJE kmember and stuffs already in the car. Motors going in tonight so we can start on the headers. Once I get everything buttoned up its going to my friends shop to be wired up and tuned.

Heres some pics of it before.

the car

goin to the track with old combo

I will post pics this weekend of before the motor goes in, the motor in and the headers if they get done.

Pics are on second page.

6.0 is in the car. Believe it or not, it fits in there better then a sbf. It slid into the aje kmember like it was meant to be there. Ill get some pics up soon.

Dont know yet. I have a guy thats going to do all the custom wiring with the harness and computer I have.

Is it a good idea to reuse it? I know the guys with the old sbc cars use a ford solenoid to keep the starter working with longtubes. Same with these?

No, they use a remote because the headers are excessively close to the solenoid and it gets cooked. LSx starters are significantly smaller than units of years past. If your header is too close, get a heatshield or redesign the header

So the TH350 definitely works with the stock sized driveshaft? I'll definitely have to look for one of those instead of a 400 so i can use the stock driveshaft and save some cash.

Yes just have to use a th350 yoke and a conversion joint. Not hard to find at all.
