Sounds like the 68 to 72 A-body guys have more room between the starter and the crossmember than the 64 to 65 A-Body guys do. I wonder what the 66 to 67 A- Body guys have found.

I spoke with MAST a few days ago. They said the oil pan is still 6 months away IIRC

The impression that I got was that they are non committal. They said it could possibly be next month or the end of the year. He was just not willing to commit. I also got the impression that it was not a top priority for them. A kind of it gets done when it gets done type mentality. I talked to the guy who did a lot of the design work and he said he was pushing for it to be a priority but felt like it was not a high priority to his boss. He did tell me that the pans have been cast and the hold up was the machining process.

So, I will hold out on the pan as long as I can. But, when I am ready to put this motor in, I will have to buy the best pan that is available at the time. Right now, for a 64 to 65 A-body, that pan appears to be the JZ Motorworks piece.

Has anyone dropped an LSx on top of the Skylark frame mounts to see if they could be used?

I saved the CAD drawing for making your own mount adapter plates. It seems pretty easy to drill the mount holes where ever needed.

Does having the motor mounts located farther back interfere with the exhaust or starter?

I'm looking into the feasibility of a 5.3 swap into my '64 Sportwagon.

Default Motor mounts andoil pan.

Check out my build post titled "LSX swap into a 1964 Chevelle L98 4L70e" on this forum. I have pictures about the Moroso pan I used. Had to dimple it a little with a hammer but nothing touches now. As for headers on a 1964, I tried the Hookers and Doug's - neither fit. Edelbrok's fit great. See my pic's on the whole build.

I am still looking for a solid idea on motor mounts for my 69 Chevelle. I have searched and searched. I have the JZ Motorworks pan and I am using my powerglide in the factory location. I cant find anything on this. I may just make my own at this point!

A few questions. Who's headers are you using? Why the glide? Is this a drag car?

No headers. Going to flip the stock manifolds for turbo. Drag car???? What is that??? 110% street car! I may mash on it on the street every now and then...

Lots of reasons. It was stock in my car, cheap to build, strong, less shock on the tires, light weight, and most of all because it runs great on the street/track. I guess we will see what happenes with the 6.0 in front of it. Maby the worst thing ever! I might do a 4l60 later so I can have OD.
