Can't find pcm Just pulled an lq9 out of what I assume is a 2003 escalade. Truck was an insurance car and most of it was burnt. The motor and the majority of the wiring is ok. The car came to me from a body shop and most of the panels have been stripped off. Is the module I have pictured the pcm? I cant find any pcm that looks like that but it does line up with all of the engine wiring. If its not the pcm maybe sombody took it? http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...h/IMG_0750.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...h/IMG_0751.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...h/IMG_0752.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...h/IMG_0753.jpg Also is that the VIN on the back of the module? If not where can I find the VIN? The doors are gone so I cant get it off the sticker. All of the glass is gone so if it was etched those are gone to. I heard sometimes they are in the glovebox but I have no glovebox. The windshield VIN is burnt. Is it etched into the frame or put on to the motor or transmission anywhere? |
That is the PCM. Take a look at this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Engin...-/270701105232 The VIN can be pulled from the PCM with the proper software. Otherwise you will have to hunt it down from the body shop, the body itself or the paperwork, |
Ok so why is this one so different Im used to the red and blue connectors. Are the pin outs different? |
It's an 07 truck ecu. You'll need the wiring diagram for 07+ vehicles. |
Ok thanks for the help. I think I need to locate the VIN first so I know what car it is. |
Looks like it had a 6 speed automatic transmission as well which would have been an Escalada or Denali. Definitely a 2007 as stated previously. Jon PSI |
Take a look at the vertical surface at the dr rear side of the block, at the trans flange. If the trans and engine are a matched set, the vin may also be stamped, [laser etched], on the bellhsg flange on the dr side. |
Be careful using wiring from a burnt car. It may look ok, but that doesnt mean the heat hasnt wasted the jacket making it impossible to strip |
