04 GTO LS1/6spd donner

Im looking at starting an LS swap into my 68 camaro, is there any issues using a 04 GTO LS1 /6spd instead of a 01-02 camaro/ta LS1. Accessory location, wiring harness lenght etc. If you guys were to do it what would you pick of the 2 to make it easyer. GTO LS1 or 01-02 F-Body LS1?

I think the accessories are different and the gto t-56 shifter sits a bit farther back. If they are in fact different, F-body might make finding acc parts easier since they made 18 billion of them.

The BCM on the GTO has the A/C request and the low speed fan relay signal. The fan signal can be programmed in to the ECU, not sure about the A/C request. The alternator on the GTO is a high output unit that does not regulate through the ECU and it costs a fortune if it dies. The A/C compressor ports exit on the frame rail, easily swapped with an F-body compressor. I used one for a swap, those were the only issues.

I am trying to do that swap right now. I am putting a 04 GTO LS1 in a 67 Camaro RS convertible and I am having trouble with the alt. and A/C comp. should I just buy F body accessories. I also bought the Holley swap oil pan and I am having trouble with that too the front of the pan is 2 1/2 inch's thick so I am having clearance issue's to the frame guess I will have to shim the mounts

The T56's are the same..just unbolt the GTO Shifter setup and get you an F-body Shifter.
