Default My swap. 5.3 into a 1990 3/4 ton 4x4 Suburban.

EDIT: Here is a link to my main thread over on ck5. TONS of info and very detailed on my thread over there!

http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=291277

This is my build up to todays date. Coppied and pasted from another site so the dates will be a little messed up but the order is correct. Hope you like it!

Figured i should share my swap with the folks on here. Here's what i got. 90 burb that originally had a tbi 350 in it. Has a th400 trans and np241. Anyway, trying to do a factory looking job without being obsessive about it.

On to the pics!

Motor mounts from car shop inc.

Flex plate spacer.

When i picked up the motor.

My Blazer when i was picking up the motor.

Unloaded the motor and started cleaning and prepping it for the swap.

Pulled the intake and started cleaning and prepping it.

Pulled one of the valve covers. Looks pretty good!

Pulled the hood off the burb and started taking it apart.

Ready to pull.

Out.

Waiting for someone to buy it. Currently on CL.

Now cleaning the engine bay before i drop the motor in. Should be putting it in Monday. This is the "before" cleaning shot of the engine bay.

And thats where im at so far. I got the computer and harness already done with the motor. Got the autometer oil pressure sensor adapter, VDO water temp sender, ep381 fuel pump, and fuel line adapters. Just have a few more things to pick up like a fan, throttle cable, radiator hoses, alternator, and o2 sensors. Should have it up and running in a few weeks.

Got the new motor dropped in today! Also set the intake on to see how it will look.

WIRING! Actually its going pretty good so far. I got rid of the tbi harness tonight. THere is still a few wires left over that go to the driver side that i have to figure out that i will probably be asking about here soon. Also mocked up the exhaust manifolds. The strange thing is that the passenger side clears super good but i might have trouble with the driver side! Anyway, you know me, on to the pics!

Left over wires.

Removed wires.

Very nice...

Are you combining the ls harness with the factory harness?

Thumbs up

I really like this build - in large part because I have a '92 Chevy 4x4 pickup that's also going to get an updated truck engine once my GTA is done... Going to enjoy watching THIS build!!

Is the engine sitting on the carshop mounts now? How well did they fit for you? Drivers side manifold looks pretty tight; assuming some clearancing will be required. How much (lot or a little)? Stock truck manifolds right?

Should be able to get at least $500 with everything on it (350tbi)
