I could really use a bit of guidance and maybe a few pointers here to make sure i have this planned out correctly.

I am wanting to run an LQ9 NA, T-56 in a short bed S10. Mechanical throttle body not FBW. The onboard ECU is shot for whatever reason as it has been that way ever since i bought the truck 7 or 8 years ago. It is actually so bad that my antifreeze is getting ionized - there is a constant 350mV continuity between ground and the coolant when the truck is at running temp. So i want to gut it all and start from scratch.

1) Are painless wiring harnesses any good or worth it if i am planning to do a standalone build with an MSD 6010/MSII?

2) 36-1 trigger using eDIS versus a MSII/MSD6010 setup, where does the vehicles actual wiring come into play? You lose all stock guages and run whatever the MS 6010 can give? What about the eDIS setup? I am not sure i understand all variables in the wiring and how they each correlate to one another.

3) Since the truck is 92 and emissions requirements for OBDII started in 96, can i run the Ford escort cam sensor, Lincoln 36-1 trigger, MSD 6010 for ignition control, Standalone Painless wiring kit for all vehicle miscellaneous wiring duties, and MSII for fuel management? Is that correct? Will this still pass inspection? The motor is being pulled from a wrecked 2006 escalade.

4) When building the bracket for the escort cam sensor how do you know where the sensor should be placed in relation to the trigger for PWM? I understand the distance away, but there is nothing that explains X and Y location in relation to the harmonic balancer/PWM gear. Is it based off of the key, or how do you do it?

5) With MegaSquirts i have heard it is nearly impossible to pass inspection unless i run what is called a parallel setup. What is this, and with my truck being 1992 do i even need the OBDII port (or replacement Painless wiring port) or will they base this off of the year of the motor 2006 instead?

The MSD 6010 will only run off of a 24X reluctor. With everything you're trying to do, it would be easier and with a lot less wiring, to run the new Holley EFI ecu. There is an HP model and Dominator model. Your wiring, with what you have planned, will be a nightmare.
