Stock clamshell mounts too large for Trans-Dapt 9525
Hi,
I'm having a problem. I bought the Trans-Dapt 4592 motor mount pads, but the standard SBC clamshell mounts are *far* too large for the pads to fit over. The "gap" on the pads is a little over 1" too small to fit over the mounts.
Clamshell mount on the left, Trans-Dapt pad on the right. You can clearly see the difference.
What is going on and what do I need?

Is this something I could use instead of the 9525 mount pads, together with stock lower clamshells and the 4572 adapter plates?

I did some additional homework:
The clamshell style mounts are the "new" way of mounting the engine. The Trans-Dapt mount pads are made for the "old" style motor mounts.
With mounts of the same design as seen in my post #2 bolted to the Trans-Dapt adapter plates and with the clamshell mounts installed in the car, it *should* bolt up. I see people are having problems with having the mounts line up correctly, but I guess that's close to unavoidable when "mixing and matching" from all ranges and years..

Thanks! I grabbed a pair cheap off Ebay (cheaper than the ones I linked to) today, so then I just have to wait until they show up and see how it works.
