With the 411 pcm I wouldnt need a seperate tcm. I dont know, that projects a ways away.

Update on the t56: Got it back in the car and it seems to work great. I still have a vibration. I'm no longer getting the 70 mph and faster vibration, but on jack stands I get a vibration you can feel and hear, shakes the steering wheel. I had it before and its still there. With no brake drums or wheels and tires its the same. I sure seems like its in the rear axle. It goes away over 140 but I didnt go any faster then that. I adjusted pinion angle again with no change. The only original part in my rear axle are the axle bearings them selves at the ends of the tubes. Could wore axle bearings cause this? there is slight up/down movement of the axle shaft but I'm not sure whats normal. The pinion and carrier bearings are all new.

it would go away on the road if it were outer bearings.

do you have another set of wheels to swap on?

Ya, but I ran it with no wheels/brakes, just the axle shafts sticking out. My next step is to throw new bearings in the ends of the axle and run it.

cant hurt, but i have not seen that before.
i have seen bent axles flanges on brand new axles. do you have a mag base dial indicator to check run out? even a harbor freight cheapie will do the work

and flywheel and clutch looked good when you had the tranny pulled?

i know you had the DS just built right?

Never pulled the pressure plate off the trans. brand new 1k miles ago and the vibration and harmonics is speed related. I can redline 1-4th with no vibration.

Driveshaft is brand new pst 3.5" aluminum whith a chromoly slip yoke, and strange chromoly pinion yoke.

I wish I could drive it to see what its like on the road/under load but its still snowing and shitty out up here. Buddy was watching the axle flanges and said the looked true while I was driving it on jack stands with no wheels/tires or brake drums on. I had vibration issues before the axle shafts also.

Have you checked your ujoint operating angles? Does the vibration make the rear view mirror blurry? Or is it more like thump...thump?
Things that vibrate and turn at wheel speed will have a much lower frequency than anything spinning at driveshaft speed.

Mirrors blurry, steering wheel shakes fast. Ive fucked with the angles with no change. Shimmed the trans up as high as I could so its pointing down 3.5 degrees, and pinions pointing up 3.5 so the u joints are parallel. I tried pointing the pinion down further, putting it at 0* and 2* pinion up with no difference really.

If the steering wheel is shaking fast then it's in the front end. Check all the links, ball joints, check runout on brake rotors...bearings... Almost anything can cause this.

damn thats a head scratcher. it seems like the only place you havent touched is the pressure plate.

when you put the t56 bell on the block did you dial it in on the crank? I had a bad vibration once with a misaligned bellhousing. needed some offset pins

sell that thing while its not broken! you could put a CD009 or RS5R30A in there and have money left over.

or fund an entire 4l80e swap + chinese turbo build
I am STILL trying to find one good swap guide for the 350Z/370Z trans in a muscle car.

yes its still not a very common swap outside the drift world so mostly you see them in s14's and the like

but i think 90% of them are using the collins adapters kit ( for either the 5 or the 6 speed swaps)

I didnt measure it. Would I be able to rule that out if it doesnt do it in 4th gear? The harmonics and vibes dont get bad until 120-140 on jack stands. I'm wondering if it wont be as bad under load out on the road? I guess time will tell.

quite possibly. what is your driveshaft speed in 4th gear at that speed. it just might be outside the critical speed for that diameter shaft.

and yeah especially with aluminum shafts they quiver a bit with no load on them.

found that put on my buddy's 280z. pulls nice and smooth to 120, depress the clutch and it would rattle your brain

120 mph would be 7k rpm I believe.

I'm not sure about the critical speed? When I bought the shaft I was told it was overkill, 3.5".

yeah thats a critical speed of 10,000 haha so it probably not that. is it possible it got dinged in shipping?

i think my local drive shaft place charges me $25 to spin it and check

other than those axle bearings and the clutch im fully depleted of ideas
