Would you use the 8.1 motor for a ls swap?

I'm doing some research on the 8.1 vortec engine. I'm really interested to see if anyone has a built 8.1 with 511 stroker forged internals, cam, springs, roller rockers, ported heads, and 42lb marine injectors.:corn:

There's a corvette C3 on one of the other boards with an 8.1.
Great low end torque motor, but kinda limited upgrades. I suspect you found most upgrades are for marine use.
What's it going in, truck, tow rig, etc?

It would go into a fbody. The bigger injectors are a marine upgrade. The stroker kit, cam, springs, and roller rockers are from rayler performance. I just always been intrigued by the potential of the big cubes with the modern fuel injection set up. I would love to chat with the c3 owner as well.

Check over at digitalcorvettes.com, C3 forum. I think it was built by 69myway, or something like that.
BTW, if you're thinking about a 3rd,4th gen F body, it might be a tight fit.

Thanks for pointing me to that board. I read up on some of his builds. I'll most likely end up picking up a ly6 and bring the cubes up to 408 with a ls3 intake. A proven route to take.
