Need help with ly6 wiring in my 1995 camaro

Hey guys,
Im doing an ly6 swap in my 95 lt1 camaro. I have k member, steering column/linkage, and my motor mounts come in tomorrow. I have a 2002 ls1 computer to run with the engine harness that Im currently looking for. Is there any way I can use this engine harness from summit?

Any info and tips are greatly appreciated!!

Anybody?

No. That harness is for HP EFI & Dominator EFI systems

Build your own harness, it's easy

I just snagged a 5.3/4l80e harness that ill be building to run my ly6 4l80e combo with so I'm selling the ls1 pcm. Any tips? Ill know ill need to add the IAC pigtail and I'm using the lingenfelter trg-002 to run the 58x/4x.

What computer do you plan on using?

md93 12-27-2015 02:12 AM

The 5.3 computer and harness

What did you get it out of where it was a 5.3l & 4L80E combo?

A 2006 savanna van. My motor apparently came out of a 2006 also but that confused me because the I didn't think the ly6 went in production until 07-08.

The wiring harness comes in next Tuesday so ill get to work on that then. The harness is drive by cable which is what I was hoping to do eventually anyway. Any tips on this? Is there a bracket I need for the throttle cable to go on this motor or could I fab one up? Im gonna try to find some pedals from a DBC van or truck from a junk yard nearby.

Why are you changing the pedals? Keep the one in the Camaro, get a LS1 Fbody NON TCS Throttle Cable. You are going to need a 58x to 24x Convertor Box for the Crank Sensor if you want to run a Cable TB PCM. If you want to go cable TB I'd get the L76 Intake and a 90mm.

This case here is almost may be wiser to make it the fly by wire throttle body, will be cheaper.

Ok ill keep the pedals. I have the converter box and I'm running the ls3 intake.

Ive spent the past few nights trying to get the motor in by myself and its close. My harness also came in yesterday so Ill probably start that tonight.

Ok so heres what Im working with:
-LY6/4l80e
-A 5.3/4l80e ECU and harness from a 2005 van.
-Lingenfelter TRG-002 58x-24x Converter Box

I am planning on using the step by step instructions from the guy on lt1swap. It says that it is for 99-02 5.3 harnesses but is very similar to 03+ harnesses. I am new to this so any tips and info will be helpful! Thanks!

LT1swap.com has the diagrams for the 2003-up harness

md93 01-02-2016 02:40 PM

Yes I did not realize this when I posted that comment. I have begun taking out the pins I don't need from the harness. I have one wire on the blue connector and two wires on the green connector that are not the same color but I think they perform the same function as the wires specified in his instructions.

I made some excel files that I used to identify every wire that I could just to make certain of what I was taking out along with learning what sensors were what and which wires I needed for external connections. I got the wiring diagrams for a 2004 5.3 van and made the files and used the wire function to cross reference with the instructions on lt1swap because a decent amount of wires were different colors for me and a few other little things were different that I had to figure out. Ill post the serv. no. for my pcm to help any newbies like myself out there with the same one because this took me way too long haha. Now Im just waiting for the hardware for the fuse block and obd2 port.
