Waiting for the header install so you can give an honest evaluation.

Nothing in particular, I just hate installing headers that are a P.I.T.A.

I hear ya. I have found these guys go in very well from underneath but you need to get the car up high enough to get the attack angle. I am cheating somewhat because I don't have the suitcase there. I am actually looking for a heat only version to trade someone my full AC with. If not I'll save and get the vintage air one that is available.

Sit tight and will get you some pics/vids of the header install shortly.

Been working and traveling for work an awful lot lately and now I am a bit sick (figures since I am going on vacation this coming week) but I did get out to the garage and get a little work done.

Mounted the AFCO heat exchanger with plenty of room for the radiator up next. Have the GT500 HX pump ready to mount...just need to finalize the location.

Also got the heater delete panel drilled for the computer, mounted and painted. Still have to mount the top drip rail.

I will probably order up all the sensors this week and get the motor buttoned up. Have some ideas on the power steering reservoir mount since the current setup does not allow for the original reservoir location due to the blower.

For now I am getting cleaned up and hitting the sack because I feel like crap...

I have a few minor tweaks to do with the rad but it and the fans are mounted. Surprisingly longer than I expected to take with this darn thing....stuff just didn't fit to each other as well (dimensionally by description be damned...haha). Anyhow its in as of this evening and will be ordering up a LOT of sensors this week so I can get the trans wiring and the rest of the main harness wiring done. I also want to get the headers on and start installing the exhaust!!!! Once all that "fun" is done I'll install the front suspense with the Z06 brakes (really looking forward to that!!!

On to the pics!!!

Rad, heat exchanger and fan combo...

Yes I was....got screwed by a vendor on that site and never got my new motor for this car. Since new I wouldn't get anything thru a lawsuit I sold whatever I could and haven't looked back. This is now my third personal build where an olds motor was replaced with and LSX. I also replaced a 400 in a TA with the LSX platform. While I don't butcher #'s matching cars, I love the pro-touring theme and the efficiency/power the LSX platform affords!

Do I miss ROP? Sometimes I do, but the pissing matches and narrow-mindedness got old so it was time to move on.

Best and thanks for the compliments!

Yeah, the Oldsmobile community has some shady ************* in it you and helmet can vouch for that.

I parted out my blue cutlass and went LS myself. I may get into another g body someday, I do love them a lot, but for now I'm really enjoying my swapped third gen.

You'll be making more power than i could ever dream about. If you even fart around the car I want to read an update.

Agreed on narrow mindedness. I never understood the politics behind "real olds power" and now defunct Oldspower.com. The latter was a much better forum for G bodies.

You clearly have not been around Pontiac guys...They are pretty bad when it comes to having their beloved Pontiac cars getting LSx swaps...or any other swaps for that matter.

When I first built my GTO it had a fuel injected 502 big block chevy. The car appeared on the cover of Popular Hotrodding magazine and the Pontiac faithful about had a collective coronary. I remember that someone started a thread on some now defunct Pontiac forum and the title of the thread read " The owner of this GTO should be slapped!" Classy, right?

And what do you think the title of a thread on THIS forum read if someone took a LS1 Fbody and swapped in a coyote motor? lol Sure the coyote would be an "upgrade" in that case but still asinine. I'm not die hard for anything except for things that work well...which typically result in a LS-something motor...it just works well.

There will always be die-hards to **** off and toy with

I don't care what people do with their cars. In fact, I would love to see a Coyote in something besides a new Mustang or truck...ANYTHING!!!

Neither do I, I just get mad when people spend a lot of money in a dumb way. Honestly it's jealousy lol I wish I had that money to blow.

Clearly for them it isn't spending money "in a dumb way." Google Subjective Value.

OK, so substitute "dumb" for "efficient".

haha sorry about that, I got really sick yesterday - bad fever and flu-like symptoms out of nowhere while I was on travel. It was a miserable ride home...felt awful.

I got all my sensors, dip stick, etc... So I can get most of the wiring sorted this weekend. Hopefully I feel up to it because right now I am a mess...

Thanks for your interest!!!
