same engine, different part numbers. What's the difference?

I'm looking at the LS376/480 but there seems to be 2 different part numbers and no obvious difference besides $400 in the price.

The more expensive engine matches the part number on Chevy's website.

Does anyone know what's going on here?

Chev perf only displays MSRP (manufacturers suggested retail price), while the people who actually sell the engines MAP (min advertised price). Look up any Chevy crate engine, there is usually a 1000-1500 price difference.

Yes I realize that part. I was wondering why both Summit and Jegs have 2 different part numbers for the same engine, the LS376/480. And why does only one of those numbers match Chevy's website? And why is one of them $400 more than the other?

www.chevrolet.com Part Number you linked 19258768
.................Summit part number you linked 19258768

Looks like the same part number... What is the other part number?

http://www.jegs.com/i/Chevrolet-Perf...85#moreDetails

The difference between these two that I see are 19301358 No Throttle Body and 19258768 Does come with Throttle Body... Are these the two number you were comparing?
One says not for Corvette in the notes the other does not.

Those are the two numbers and I noticed that too. But they're going to jack up the price $400 by taking OFF the throttle body?

LLLosingit Apr 23, 2016 10:17 AM

There are also two different sets of notes if you use the compare feature. http://www.summitracing.com/search/b...ibanner=SREPD5. You might have to call them to see if they have the answer. Might be something not listed. Chevy Performance parts can be weird on prices, I bought an oil pan Kit with windage tray/dipstick/pickup tube/bolts/gasket cheaper than I could buy just the bare oil pan itself.

If you do order from summit you might try to find a 10% coupon code. If it works for the engine it could save you quite a bit.

Where do these codes like to pop up?

I didn't see that you were referring to a jegs engine.
