Porsche 911 - LS1 swap

Can you take a picture of this water pump? I am also planning to use an LS3 pump with spacers but I am curious what RH is calling a manual pump.

I just had the conversion done to my 2000 996 track car. I went with the 525 hp LS3. Not sure which water pump my mechanic used, but we did use the Renegade kit. Parts looked like they were good quality. The car hasn't been tuned yet but ran well when we took it to the track last weekend. The only problem we had is that the car idles at about 2000 rpm. We dynoed the car and it only made 388 to the rear wheels. i was expecting more but we left the stock manifolds on which are probably very restrictive. Plenty of torque everywhere. I'm sure you'll enjoy the car once it's done.

Post some pictures of your build... Is your setup DBW or cable? Check to see if you are getting full throttle when the pedal is down, 388hp you are getting robbed somewhere. My LS2 993 bodied car 1st dynoed in the mid 300's before we found I was only getting 60% throttle. After we fixed the pedal it put down over 400hp and 425ft torque.

It's DBW. We checked that and it opens all the way. I need to get a good set of headers on the car. I imagine the stock manifolds are very restrictive. We're also sending the car to a tuner to fix the idle issue. The motor pulls through the rpm range very smoothly, no hiccups anywhere. I assumed the car would make about 450 whp.

Im running a heads/cam/intake iron block 6.0L in my 996 c2 vert. I made 430whp na and im over 500whp on a small shot. I drag race it all the time. Never had any drivetrain issues. Love the car to death. Planning on upping the shot and possibly swapping to a ls3 stroker soon. Already have an ls3 short block in my garage. 😄

I hear the drive trains hold up pretty good. I lost second gear on the track on mine a couple of years ago. I found a used one for about $800. It's held up well so far. We'll see how it holds up to the LS. I'm sure a road course is easier on the drive train than drag racing.

Not very hard. I just leave at like 2200rpm. Still on street tires. It chirps the tires and i just lay into it. It grabs and goes. Best was a 7.6 @ 99. Didnt have the best launch. I think with the same shot i could get a 7.4 out of it for sure. 60ft times are in the high 1.8s. Im planning on upping the shot quite a bit and shooting for high 6s. 😄

Waited weeks for the RH kit to arrive, and was bored out of my mind with nothing to do. As my luck would have it, my work schedule got BUSY right when the parts arrived.......so I haven't had much time to play with the car.
I managed to get a few things done over the weekend.
- Did some trimming to the rear to clear alternator and AC compressor
- Swapped out the LS1 accessories/etc to the new stuff that RH sent me....water pump (seems to be from an LS1...odd), alternator, AC compressor, and all brackets.
One thing that kinda makes me mad: it seems I will need an LS3 crank pulley to work with Renegades manual water pump kit. I'll post pics shortly, but it seems that everything lines up EXCEPT for the LS1 crank pulley. Either they forgot to include that, or they just don't include it for some reason. I just ordered one on my own, but I'll be giving them a call tomorrow to see what happened.

Hayabusa - how's your car coming along?
