Default Porsche 996 LS3 Conversion

Hi,

I. Going to start the above conversion over the winter so I'll likely have a few question, I'll have a good search through the forum to see what information I can find.

As it stands I have a 1999 C4 Carrera and it requires an engine rebuild, I've bought an LS3 engine without Dod, it comes complete with ECU already programmed for standalone, wiring harness, GM pedal assembly and C6 Corvette sump.

I'll need to buy the conversion kit possibly from renegade to allow me to mount the motor into the car unless anyone knows of an alternative.

My first real question is, does anyone know of a wiring diagram so I can have a look and see what wires I need to connect the GM ecu into, I assume I need to try and splice the Porsche DME (7.2 variant) to the GM ecu, I really want this as an everyday car so don't want my dash board full of lights.

Thanks

pretty much all u need to splice into is wiring for the tach, batt light, mil light, and power. When u get the kit from renegade they send u a general how to in an email. It gives you a good idea on what to do. Other than that i used a porsche Factory service manual for any wiring i had a question about. You end up using most of the porsche sensors for the gauges

That doesn't seem all that drastic, I was expecting it to be quite in depth.

Is there anything at all that jumps out as being problematic ?

How about the onboard computer, does this still give MPG read out etc.

What's the best solution water pump wise, I've read a few different ways of doing this, I'm basically wanting the easiest set up, I'm not fussed about A/C of power steering just now

i used renegade's electric water pump kit. Main issues i had were figuring out what fitting sizes i needed. Especially for making the porsche sensors work. I had to make my own fitting for the coolant sensor. Same with looping the power steering lines to delete it. I had to make my own fittings for that.
