Very nice clean ride, work, etc!! I love that dash Holley makes, wow neato.
Back in the day I to found that nothing is as good as the OEM clutch cable...I tried them all too except the Maximum Motorsports one which I hear is good. It is funny how long I went with a heavy clutch pedal not knowing it was the cable, then I happened upon an OEM cable when my BBK broke, could not believe the difference.

Went to eat the other and drove the Mustang. On the way home I smelled something burning and noticed something on the car smoking when I stopped at an intersection. So I pulled over and looked at it. I had either run over a big piece of plastic or it had blown under my car at some point. It was a pretty big piece of plastic like a big bag that something was shipped in or something like that. The bad part is that it had melted all over my nice new stainless headers. Smells like crap and smokes like crazy. Took it home and parked it. Pulled the rest of the plastic bag off, but it was already all over my headers and h-pipe. I've driven it since then and it's still burning off what's left of the plastic melted on the headers. I need to try to figure out how to clean the headers off. That crap is everywhere!
Any ideas what I can do to clean that mess off of the headers? Or do I just have to wait until it burns off?

Picked up some different wheels today. 2012 Mustang 18" wheels. Came with Pirelli P235/50 ZR18 fronts and Nitto NT555 Extreme ZR 275/40 ZR18 rears. The rears fit perfect! The front tires that came with the wheels are too tall, almost 1.5" taller than what I had on there. So I'm going to pick up some new tires for the front. Probably going to need a small spacer for the front. I really like the look. Anxious to get some new tires put on the front.

So after going back and forth on doing a LS swap or not I decided to list my Vortech stuff and see if I had any takers. My Vortech stuff sold pretty fast and I started unloading the rest of my SBF parts.
About the same time I had a LS1 come up for sale locally.
2000 Camaro SS LS1
45K miles
LS6 Intake/Ported Throttle Body
Texas Speed MS3 cam 237/242 .603/.609 112 LSA
Precision Race Components .675 Double Valve Springs
Precision Race Components Titanium Retainers
New Valve Seals
Texas Speed 7.400 Hardened Pushrods
So I grabbed it.
I drive my car a lot and get bored with an automatic. So I definitely wanted to stay with a manual. After looking at several options I decided to keep my Tremec 3550. I like the fact it keeps the factory location. So no need for different crossmember, driveshaft, etc.
I ended up finding a deal on a QuickTime bellhousing and a Mcleod twin disc clutch kit and flywheel
This setup will use a longer 98 Mustang clutch fork, and I also picked up a pilot bearing from another member that ran the same combo. Its a roller pilot bearing from a 460 that he has the outside diameter turned down to fit the LS motor.
I did also have to swap my input shaft out to run the McLeod twin disc kit. Mine was a 10-spline input shaft so I picked up the needed 26-spline shaft. Got it swapped out, so its ready to go.

Picked up a pair of 245/40/18's today to replace the 235/50/18's on the front wheels. They are about 1.5" shorter, much better lol. The 245/40/18 is almost the exact same size as the 245/45/17's I had on the car, so I figured they would work fine. They fit and look great. Cleaned the car up and took it for a spin.

Had to change my thermostat this weekend after it stuck shut on me. I got that changed, so I'm back up and running. I did finally buy a overflow tank. Just a plain plastic tank and bracket from Jegs. I mounted it on the passenger's side frame rail. That way its accessible, but pretty much out of site, to keep the engine bay cleaned up.

Been feeling a little slop in the steering column. Tightened up all the mounting bolts under the dash, didn't seem to change much. So I pulled the steering wheel and replaced the bearing in the end of the column. LMR had the bearing in stock. Nice and tight
