Holley Hi Ram in 1st Gen Camaro
Hey guys,
Everything I read on LS1 Tech, Pro-Touring, and Lateral-G said that a Holley Hi Ram would not fit in a first gen camaro with a 2" Cowl Induction Hood. I kept measuring and thought it would fit in my application so I quit measuring and took the cutoff wheel by the horns. It fit with a 1/2" to spare. Here is my combination incase somebody is looking to do the same thing.
Holley engine mounts
Holley 4l80 trans crossmember
Holley LS7 Hi Ram
2" Cowl Induction Hood

And think you for the compliment. I set out to build what gm would have built as a copo option back in 67 camaro given today's technology if I was the head man at gm.

What engine mounts did you go with? It is my understanding that the Holley mounts sit the engine lower than the other mounts on the market. That may give you the 1/2" that you need for clearance

Yea that does look lower but changing that now means changing turbo mounts, intercooler piping, some of the down pipes. Wish I would of got them to begin with. the holley hi ram was a impulse buy but for now I'll cut the hood and maybe reshape it later.
Btw my drive line angle is spot on. A total of 2 degrees negative.
