Can't close hood..

2 or more heads > than 1. I can't close my hood on my 94 Camaro. It's hitting right about where the MAF is..and it's a good 2+ inches from closing. I already messed with hacking the lower airbox off..but it still hits. We will be grinding the metal radiator support and bending it down but that may give only about an 1" more clearance. I have an aftermarket hood, but the cowl doesn't start right at the tip :bang:. I haven't put it on yet,,so hopefully it will be high up enough and fit over the problem..If that doesn't remedy the problem..then what can I try?

Has anyone done a swap into 93-96 F-body? Any problems with hood clearance? The nose sits a lot lower than the 97+. I don't want to modify the intake like the LT1 style either.

I probably already thought of every possible way,,but hopefully I'm missing something obvious. This part may have to turn into a major hack job :(

New hood doesn't clear it.

TTT...nobody knows how I can close this hood? The only thing it's hitting is the air box. It's actually about 5" gap.

I had the same problem with my 95 camaro with an ls1. I actually drove it around town with a 99 Z hood on and just pulled the hood off when I went to the track. I had the ls1 fuse boxes so there was no way to do a lt1 style intake. If I still had the car I was thinking the best way to do the air intake would be to cut the lower airbox waaaay down and use a FTRA or something similar to get air from in front of the radiator instead of pulling it from the front. I know a SLP ultra Z hood is supposed to let an ls1 box work on an lt1 car with minimal work too.
