I've got an idea in my head.

Here it is folks, I am buying a Mazda b2000 of my father-in-law for cheap. it has a straight body, bad paint, bad engine, bad tranny. I want to make thing thing a screamer for not a whole lot of money. I am thinking a 4.8 with a decent cam (maybe a 212/218) and either a TH350 or 700r4. i am leaning towards a 700r4 because with the right gearing, it could be a fairly economical as well at 20 MPG or so. I figure it should put about 250-260 to the wheels and in a sub 2500 pound truck, it should scream. What would the best way to control the EFI-Megasquirt or just find a donor truck, or go to a carbed set-up

well they do make the carb. kit for the LS1 I seen it in the summit catalog the other day. sounds like a fun project. You could also go either way with the tranny. and it should scream being it will be light. it would be a nice sleeper truck...

Yeah I am going to go with a stock sounding exhaust, so that anybody who hears the truck will never know what's under the hood.
