clutch don't feel right

I used a 7/8 " bore Wilwood master with my T56 tranny. Bled the system by inserting a long 1/4 " clear plastic tube into the bleed port and pumping fluid through the system until no air bubbles showed in the tube. The clutch disengages completely with the pedal about 2 or 3 " from the floorboard but it just doesn't feel right, goes all the way to the floorboard and returns somewhat slowly. No firmness. The tranny sat for a number of years unused wich could account for the slow return. Any ideas?
How far in can the master push rod be adjusted and still operate properely?

There are very few moving parts here, this system depends on the tension from the pressure plate diaphram to return the slave. Maybe it's just a little sticky from sitting around for a long time as you've indicated? If you are getting full travel (and it sounds like you are) I don't think the pushrod adjustment would really do anything.
