Default CARB'D 6.0L IROC almost done! DONE UPDATED

2004 6.0 with a futral custom cam.just over an f14.
gm efi intake. edelbrock carb kit. z06 manifolds, EWP, 4th gen camaro fans and radiator, and a few other misc stuffs.
just need to get my alternator bracket done, and tidy a few wires up and out of the way.

went to the track.
threw a 4400 yank and a 9" i ran a best of
1.594
7.37
94.87mph
i was playing with shift points. this was only at 6700. ran out of time. mph kept climbing from a base of 93.3 at 6K to the 94 at 6.7K. allen at futral says this cam will go 7K, so i dont think 95-96mph is gonna be a problem.

That looks almost identical to my project. 2001 LQ4 with milled heads, 228/232 .600/.600 crane cam and the same edelbrock carb kit amd some custom long tubes.

I'm very curious to see how yours runs with the carb. What tranny are you using? Mine's going into an 81z. Please keep us posted on your results!

Cool 6.0 Install...

Yo, very clean install, you do good work. I guess you got the motor from a truck of some sort. At the risk of being nosey, what did you pay for the motor? I want to get a 6.0, add twin turbo, drop in my 240Z. Anyway, good luck!!

its a stock 93-97 camaro piece, all cut up to fit in the car. it fit the radiator and fans, so i figured id make it work.

i got 2K in a 10Kmile motor. ive seen them go for cheaper, but mine came with a wiring harness, ecm and all the efi and then some. i made a lil money back selling some parts.

thanks for the comments.

Very nice. I am considering this for my 90 IROC Convertible. Although with it being a 9000 mile car I'm still on the fence about even touching it.

TJ nice install!
Does Edelbrock suggest a special carb/jets? What carb/Fuelpump are you running?
What "pill" are you using on the Edelbrock box?
How low or high is idle ?
You got mail!

Where did you get your ignition box? You said that it was a GM manifold and I did not think you could only get the box with edelbrock's intake kit.

Nice setup.

Damn that cam looks good. I wasn't sure on how big the 6.0 can handle so I went a littlle conservative.

What flexplate are you using for the th350? Is it the 98 one? I'll be going the th350 route as well and was wondering how you made it all fit.

i bought the edelbrock kit and sold the edelbrock intake to compensate for the gm intake cost.
the pills vary my idle greatly, which is part of the heavy idle of the cam.
my bud has a stock 02 motor and his pills dont change his idle a bit.

zedzag- im using the 2004 6.0 4L80e flywheel with the crank spacer milled down .157 thousandths for my application. i had to do this cause im running a yank from a th350, that was designed for a small block. the setup didnt work properly with the crank spacer like it was supposed to. i used it, and stock SHORT bolts for the 4L60e.
what a mess. im just glad it worked out.
grrrr.
thanks.

What are you using to control the fans?
