Need some help with f-body acc. brackets Getting ready to put my rebuilt LQ4 into my 81Z and I need some help with the f-body accessory brackets. I need to know which brackets and idler/tensioner pulleys are needed for the alternator and pwr steering pump. I see two are needed for the alt and only see one for the pwr steering? The tensioner/idlers I have no clue. Anyone start with a bare engine like myself and successfully find all the missing brackets, etc? I need some part numbers or a link to some...my search didn't bring up too much. |

Those look like c5 parts not f-body parts to me. |
THIS.. https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...1&page=1&pp=20 has some things you might be looking for. I'm searchin for ya.. |
67RSCamaroVette - thanks for looking for me but I found out what I need. I went down to my local GM dealer and "commondeered" their computer. Here's what I found...these are all F-body applications. Alternator: Rear bracket P/N 12556915 Front bracket P/N 12563327 Power steering: Main bracket P/N 12561584 Front brace P/N 12555693 These part numbers are right from GM's computers and they also list all the idlers/tensioners as well as the mounting hardware (which I'll get later) Hopefully these can help others out. |
I've actually been talking to someone about putting together a packaged accessory drive kit with all the stock mounting brackets and bolts etc. I know this doesn't help you now, but it's in the works. ;) Mike |
Oughta post it in JohnB's accessory sticky thread... It'd help alot of people. |
