LS1/LQ4 front cover conversion to LS2 front cover
ok, so id like to run a really cheap cam.. i was wondering if anyone has converted their LS1/LQ4 front cover to an LS2 front cover so they could run an LS2/LS7 camshaft. id have to get an extension piece (apparently there is someone who makes them) and then also a front cover and cam sensor.. any other problems im not seeing?

I thought the cam sensor on the LS2 read off of the cam gear? And I am not sure if GM did it the same way but I was under the influence that the aftermarket cam makers left the marks for LS1 guys too. Also call a couple of sponsers (Speartech for extension harness, Speed Inc. on camshafts)

i want to run an LS7 cam. im on a tight tight budget, and instead of a LQ4 cam id much rather run an LS7 cam for $150. i figured that i could sell my front cover for about the same as getting an LS2 cover, someone might even want to trade me.
yes the cam sensor runs off the timing chain sprocket on the cam.
