exhaust manifold flange help

exhaust manifold collector flange help Not sure where this should go but for my conversion I used some cast ls6 exhaust manifolds (from a z06)at the time I just "made" some collector flanges to bolt the exhaust up with.
Are these available to buy? What do I need to purchase I am going to get new exhaust and want to do it better I think I may have a slight leak now...

Ok well another question, are the "collectors" different between the ones found on f-body exhaust or even the truck 5.3 exhaust?
I am sure somebody has done this also?

Ok, Im not sure what you mean. But in my conversion I used F-body exhaust manifolds, I had some flanges made from the gasgets and then they were milled flat, we then just welded my exsisting exhaust system up to those.

yea that is what I mean, I was hoping I could purchase something like a collector on a header that would bolt up but maybe they are only found with the y-pipes or others.

I too am just a bit unclear of your question, but I'll toss out my experience.
I have LS6 cast manifolds on my conversion, and needed to couple them to my exhaust system. The flange bolt pattern is diffenert than LS1 headers. Ok, no big deal; buy some flages and weld my 2 1/2" exhaust pipes to them. Well, no luck in finding bare flanges anywhere. When I asked on this forum, the answer was to locate some cat take-offs, and use those flanges. Turns out those were difficult to find, and when I did, the prices were higher than I'd pay to rob just the flanges from them (remember, it's a $$$ "Corvette" part). I ended up making my own from 1/2" steel, and had to machine the 45 degree seat in them for the stock Corvette donut seal.

you guys have both understood my question (I think) so I may resort to making some more. I did the first time but was not happy with them so I hoped to purchase some before I redo my exhaust. I guess I will keep looking or start to make some more...
