trunk on 01 vert don't open with remote. If i use the yellow trunk release button by the steering wheel, I hear the clicking noise but I need to have someone lift the trunk. Shouldn't it open and pop up slightly and I lift it open like every other car? I had an aftermarket alarm(with trunk release module) installed last summer to avoid this issue but even with that, pressing the button opens the trunk sometimes and othertimes it doesn't. I can hear a clicking noise and sometimes I don't, is the solenoid bad or what? |
1) try adjusting the solenoid mechanism on the bolts, if someone removed just one bolt, the mechanism could have moved and the hook from the trunk won't be properly aligned. 2) your struts might be bad and might not be providing enough upward pressure to take advantage of the temporary hook release from pressing the button. |
http://www.installuniversity.com/ins...sity/index.htm try this site. go down under Miscellaneous and look there. This might help with the having someone lift the trunk lid. If it clicks sometimes and sometimes not, you might also have a bad solenoid like said above |
When I use mine, the trunk is unlatched but doesn't pop open. I just lift it up manually. |
Might have to push up and down on the trunk once or twice lightly in the center to help the latch release. |
you know those rubber things that keep the trunk lid from shattering when you slam it down? twist those things so they raise up just a little bit more. that way when it unlatches, the lid raises just enough to stay unlocked. i had this same problem a few weeks ago. this is the thing i'm talking about... only this one is on a honda shitbox2000 and on a different location. http://inlinethumb36.webshots.com/42...600x600Q85.jpg |
Mine has never "popped up" always just raised it , no biggie. |
I have to push the trunk release button twice to make my 01 open. Once wont do it. |
