Does it still work, but is just leaking? If so, there's not much to rebuild, other than to replace seals. The most common leak is the big O-ring in the frosted plastic reservoir, less frequently its the hose fittings. Mine has been leaking for years, usually just when it is operated, but I just add fluid to maintain level (I've looked many times and cannot locate the source of the leak, but it drips out from behind the wheel, off the rear bumper skirt). One of these days I'll tire of it and fix the leak.

Don't forget that GM changed their recommended fluid from Dextron to Mineral Oil.

Do you flush the system first, before adding the MO?

I didn't, and the service bulletin that stated this didn't mention anything about flushing out the old stuff first. I've not noticed any down-side to using MO, my system was leaking before I started using MO over 15+ years ago.

68firebirdman - I have a good motor and pump out of my car I'll ship for $75.
I removed mine to shed a few pounds, but honestly I see no reason to ever put it back on.
I can move the top up and down faster without it and I don't have to know where my keys are.
