Default Some updated pics... 10pt cage plus some goodies!!

Hey, most of you know of me from this thread:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/convertible-vehicles/602168-got-my-10pt-chromoly-put-so-love-vert-guys.html

I have some updated pics of the car. For now, she is complete for the exception of not having a trans./driveshaft in it. The trans is out getting touched up so we know its 100% before we proceed. FLT has it. Besides that, she is about 97% done and being prepped for the Autorama show in MI.

Let me see, anything else... OH, enjoy!!!

Look Ma', SNOW!!!!

watcha' think?!

everything is so nice, yet that front ends looks like ****. Love the Gauges, The Seat Delete, and the custom thing for a TV. AND TURBO!!! PSS

just do something with the grill...

edit: more pics of the seat delete please!!! it looks amazing yo

edit #2" that is the sickest idea on the glove box with switches...

Gotta tell ya I love just about everything on that car. I have been following your build and you have spent alot of money on that car no doubt.
One thing like im sure other people will mention,
why does that hood fit like total crap?

Oh and dont forget to put more than 2 lug nuts on your wheels. Might cause a problem with all that power jk

Get a video when you get that beast running!

Actually, i have a grill "rksport" i believe that is being worked over to deal with the air flow for the FMIC.

TELL ME ABOUT IT!!!!! The body shop, Eric and I were having a major discussion on what the hell to do with the hood. Eventually, i might change it out but for now, i like to think of that it's special!

Oh, yeah, i actually had to sell some of the small stuff (like lug nuts) to fund the car build!!!!!! lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know the hood does fit like nutz but, its was pushed, stretched, shoved and this is the best that can be done with it. Its a SLP ultra-Z thing. Some came out ok, some look like this.

Oh well, its part of the character!

oh, thanks brotha!!!

I do like the rear seat delete, but more pictures of the gauges, how they're mounted, etc! Day and night pics of them would be great!

I also have an aftermarket hood and the only way that I can get it to come down to the proper placement is to put some hood pins on the car. You might want to think about that, because you have a "race" car it would look pretty good. Just my two cents.

Car looks awesome. The color is great. Please post up some info on the gauges and radio. They both look amazing. How are they mounted and do you have the wiring schematic for the gauges? Who did the radio bezel work?

thanks again folks!!

Um, ok.. i got a few more of the gauges but nothing fully assembled. Basically, there is a member on here that sells a blank plate for you to install gauges. So, i went through a crap load of gauges on day and ended up on the NEXUS gauges from autometer. Ordered a few, got the FIRST speedo and tach made off their line!

The radio is a Kendwood DD unit... we had to chop the top of the cluster, where the stock camaro plaque thingy and fog light switch is at: and mold it with fiberglass. As it turns out, Eric used to be in car audio for many years and it became apparent that he could use the stuff well! He also custom glass'd the three gauges in the center console, just like the first gens.

Wiring schematic? Well, all the gauges came with, no, sorry, i had to order separately their sending units per gauge. With that, the nexus setup has a brain where all the gauges are linked and directed back to what looks like a PCM. So, basically, sending to gauge, gauge linked to the brain... very easy in theory but there is alot of wires and crap behind those pretty gauges.. trust me!!!

Since the factory radio is ripped out, wiring the headunit to amps, then to speakers is pretty straight forward as well. I cannot remember if they had to custom fab a mount for the headunit, i'll ask.

The cage was built around the top... so, teh cage fits excellent with the top down. No rubbing, sliding... it just sits slight over the top.

I'll get more pics soon. It was actually somethign miraculous getting these out of ERIC.... he would rather spent his time getting the car finished right now then to snap some pics!

again, thanks ya'll, i'll update as soon as i have some more.

LATERZ!
