12's in the quarter?

i am wondering if my car will run 12's in the quarter mile.

I live in NM
its a 2000 vette, LT's and full exhaust, Lunati cam 242/242 .595 .595 112LSA
underdrive pulley, Heads 225cc 2.02 int. 1.60 exh. and a Weiand intake. full tune. this is assuming i can stick the tires without spin. and a good driver. what do you think?

JuicedVette381 Jan 26, 2009 11:34 PM

Cole Train Jan 27, 2009 12:15 AM

haha you should be WELL into the 12's My first run at the track on my setup(look at sig) i ran a 13.0 haha it was bad because i was stupid and am running a stock clutch and on the very first pass it started sticking:( dumb me. There was a C6 Z06 there running 12.7's;) you should be knockin' on 11's door:D

Droptopws6 Jan 27, 2009 07:02 AM

Im cam only, for now, and ran 12.34 @ 112 mph.

The key here is you said you are in NM. What part? The elevation is quite high here. Albuquerque is over 5200' which will raise your ET about a full second and 8 mph in the traps. You need about 320 actual rwhp at this elevation to run consistent 12's. That is with a decent 60'
and the tracks don't hook very well here.

JuicedVette381 Jan 29, 2009 01:13 AM

i live in albuquerque. thats why im curious. people say its easy but we are in high elevations

What kind of power did you put down, corrected and actual?

04ctsvfl Jan 30, 2009 01:52 PM

He should of put down north of 400, and with the right tires (drag radials) he will definetly be right around mid 11's. on bottle low 11's

01sscam Jan 30, 2009 03:33 PM

You should definitely go 12's here.

Don't over do it trying to leave off the line! take it smoothly the first pass or to two to see how well your tires will grip the track.
